System B

8080 CPU (in  late 77/early 78 CPU changed  to Z80 and speed  increased from 1 Mhz to 4 Mhz   over time.)

1K increasing to  48K Ram over time.

Flashwriter 1 video pcb , changed to FW 2 over time.

I/O 1 (Bitstreamer 1) pcb again upgraded to I/O 2 board

Prom/Ram pcb (2K) but was updated to 8 K.

As above but with 2 Micropolis  “16 hard sectored” 315 K floppy drives (five and a quarter inch)

All the above systems were housed in the MZ  18 slot chassis

Information given below to be treated with caution. I didn’t come across these early systems so I  cann’t be 100% sure of my facts.

Vector 1 series  was a clone of the

Altair 8800 and probable shipped with 1K of ram but expandable up to 8 or 16K.

These systems slowly evolved into the other systems as each new pcb was produced so it is hard to actually define where one system ended and another started. It  was a process of evolution.

It is possible that the Memorite 1 & 2 systems were turnkey systems and booted from Proms

I came across one System B with 56K ram, using a 8K and a 48K ram boards. Memory boards could be added to the system to give a larger amount of memory.

It was possible for Vector systems to access 512 K of ram using 8 x 64 K memory boards and paging them (via software control after setting  switches on memory pcbs)
